Slacker Unveils Hardware, Premium Service

Slacker, the online personalized music streaming firm with operations in Austin, said yesterday that it has launched both its personal radio player and new premium services. Slacker said that its new Slacker Portable Radio Player will be available in December, and will start at $199.99. The firm's new premium services, called Slacker Premium Radio, will allow users of the company's music streaming services to skip unlimited songs and access any song on demand. The new premium service will cost users $7.50 per month in a subscription fee. Venture-backed Slacker has received funding from Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Funds, and also has offices in San Diego, California.
