Silicon Labs Buys ChipSensors

Austin-based Silicon Laboratories said today that it has acquired Ireland-based ChipSensors Limited, a developer of single-chip, CMOS sensors. According to Silicon Labs, ChipSensors' technology complements its own technology products and CMOS-based sensor capabilities. ChipSensors' products are used to detect temperature, humidity, and gases. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. ChipSensors was venture backed by Kernel Capital, Enterprise Ireland and ETV Capital.
