ServerEngines, With Austin Operations, Acquired

Silicon valley firm ServerEngines, a developer of 10Gb/sec Ethernet semiconductors with significant design operations in Austin, has been acquired, according to acquiring firm Emulex. Emulex said it would pay approximately $159M, in a combination of $78M in cash plus its common stock for ServerEngines. ServerEngines has approximately 170 employees spread across Sunnyvale, Austin, and Hyderabad, India; a portion of the firm's R&D operations are in Austin.
