Second-round Funding Yields $14M for WhiteFence

A follow-up round of funding for WhiteFence has generated $14 million, company executives announced Wednesday. New investor Adams Street Partners and first-round financier Internet Capital Group Inc. led the effort. Headquartered in Houston, WhiteFence is an online service that enables consumers to comparison shop for home services and utilities such as electricity, natural gas, phone, broadband Internet, and cable and satellite television. In 2006, WhiteFence processed more than 1.2 million transactions through its Web site and those of its channel partners. Adams Street Partners provides private equity investment advisory services through direct investments in portfolio companies and partnerships.
