SAVVIS Inc., a provider of network hosting and services, revealed Tuesday that it plans to build and open a second data center in the Dallas metropolitan area. SAVVIS said the new data center will provide various information technology infrastructure services, ranging from collocation and security to managed hosting and networks. SAVVIS said the new facility, which is expected to open in Q2 2008, will comprise some 46,800 square feet of elevated floor space and approximately 29,000 square feet of revenue-generating area. SAVVIS added that it expects the center to yield some $20 million of revenue in its first full year of operation. Headquartered in Town & Country, Mo., a St. Louis suburb, SAVVIS has opened four data centers since Sept. 1 and is developing two more data facilities in the Boston and Chicago markets.
