RetailMeNot Dangles $500,000 In Smartphone Promotion

Austin-based RetailMeNot, the provider of online coupon information, is looking to boost its mobile users with a new, prize promotion, the company said today. According to RetailMeNot, is is giving away half a million dollars in prizes as part of a sweepstakes for smartphone users who download its app. RetailMeNot said it will give out twenty thousand, $25 gift cards, and five prizes worth $10,000 each, as part of an effort to convince users to download the company's new mobile app. RetailMeNot said the promotion runs through December 22nd.
