TOP NEWS Consumers Saved Over $32.2M From Site In 2010, the online coupon and promotional code site now owned by Austin-based Whaleshark Media, said today that it has calculated that consumers saved over $32.2M from using its site in 2010. The firm said that a big chunk of those savings--$17.1M--came in the month of December. released a numebr of statistics on its online coupon code site, saying it helped retailers generate over $847M in gross sales for retailers over the year. Among other interesting details released in its report: New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey consumers used the most coupons during the year and the most popular stores for searches between November and December were Amazon, Victoria's Secret, and Kohl's. WhaleShark acquired RetailMeNot in December, and is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and Adams Street Partners.
