Report Finds Texas Leads In Technology Exports

A new report from the AeA, a technology trade association, pegs Texas as the nation's second largest tech exporting state. In a report released yesterday, the AeA found that Texas exported $39B in technology in 2006, making it the second largest technology export state. The report also found that exports grew by $4.5B, making it the fastest growing state nationwide. Among the areas where Texas led in exports were communications equipment, semiconductors, and computer and peripheral equipment. The numbers came as part of the AeA's Cyberstates report, which tracks high tech jobs, wages, payroll, and other statistics on a state-by-state basis.
