Report: Tesla Building New (Small) Facility In Austin

The ABJ reports this week that Tesla Motors is building a new facility -- albeit, just a customer service center -- at the corner of U.S. Highway 183 and Pond Springs Road in Northwest Austin. Austin was passed over for a new, $5 billion dollar factory after a law was passed that outlawed Tesla's direct sales model in the state. Tesla sells its automobiles directly, rather than through franchised dealers.
