Rebellion Photonics Gets $10.4M For Gas Leak Detection Technology

Rice University spinout Rebellion Photonics, which is developing hyper-spectral imaging cameras which can help oil rig and refinery operators detect and identify gas leaks, has raised $10.4M in a Series A funding round. The finding came from Tinicum L.P. According to the startup, which spun out of Rice University in 2010, the new funding will go towards it growth initiatives. The company is led by Allison Lami Sawyer. The company said its technology uses digital images to help identify and quantify dangerous gas leaks. More information »
