Rackspace Dangles $20,000 For Mobile Apps
San Antonio-based Rackspace said this week that it has launched a new challenge for software developers, and is offering up $20,000 in prizes to developers who develop mobile apps using a combination of its technologies. Rackspace said that apps which use its ObjectRocket NoSQL database service, its Rackspace Cloud Databases (MySQL), or Rackspace Cloud Big Data Platform (Hadoop) and other technologies will be valid for a new developer challenge. The company is looking to convince mobile app developers to use its services to scale out their apps.
