Q2 Opens Up New Financial API

Austin-based cloud-based, banking software developer Q2 Holdings said on Tuesday that it has rolled out a new set of open, application programming interfaces (APIs) called Q2 Open. According to Q2, the set of tools will allow financial institutions, fintech companies, and brands to develop and enhance their own financial apps and tools. The APIs include interfaces to allow the creation of branded debit cards via API; a way to offer up savings accounts witin an app; an API for creating "For the Benefit Of" (FBO) accounts; and a billing and payment app, for bill presentment, aggregation, and bill pay. The company said it's API is already being used by others, including personal finance and savings app Qapital.
