Pluck Adds UK Media Firm

Pluck Corp., a provider of white-label social media content and functionality to media companies and retailers, revealed Tuesday that a leading U.K.-based entertainment and communications company will deploy Pluck's platform across its network of virtual properties later this quarter. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Pluck said British Sky Broadcasting, which serves some 21 million viewers throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, will first introduce Pluck-powered social media capabilities on its SkyNews.com Web site during the fall. The new interactive features will include blogs, discussion boards and user comments. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Pluck is a wholly owned subsidiary of Demand media.
