Plowz and Mowz Takes On LawnStarter In Austin

Need your lawn mowed, quick? Another on-demand, lawn mowing startup has launched in Austin, saying that it has opened up service in Austin. Plowz and Mowz, a New York startup which got its start offering up on-demand snow plowing, said it just launched in Austin, to offer up lawn care via its mobile app. Plowz and Mowz connects lawn (and snow plowing) operators with customers, and handles payment, and also provides all of the notification and tracking services for those operators.

Plowz and Mowz is directly challenging Austin's LawnStarter, which launched its service last August and recently raised a seed funding after graduating from Techstars Austin. Plowz and Mowz is unlikely to get much action on the snow plowing side in Austin, however, where it usually only has a sprinkling of snow in winter; the last major Austin snow event was in January of 1985.
