Plainview Aids Lockheed Martin

Austin, Texas-based Plainview, a developer of enterprise-wide portfolio management software, announced today that it is assisting Lockheed Martin in transitioning the military contractor's global network to Internet Protocol version 6. Intended as the successor to IPv4, IPv6 is a network layer protocol for packet-switched internetworks. Compared to IPv4, IPv6 grants networked devices an increase in available addresses. The company added that Lockheed Martin, which is the U.S. government’s largest contractor, will utilize Plainview's Enterprise portfolio management software to aid its full-scale transition to IPv6.
