Phytel Snags $14.2M

Dallas-based Phytel, a developer of software used by physicians to track preventive and chronic disease care, said today that it has raised $14.2M in a new round of funding. The round came from Polaris Venture Partners, Caris, Ltd., and LAH Investments, L.P. Phytel said that the new funding will go to advance product development initiatives at the firm. Phytel said its product is now being used by more than 100 physician groups, serving over 15 million patients. Caris is the investment firm started by AdvancePCS Chairman and CEo David D. Halbert.
