Phunware Buys Branded Mobile Apps Firm

Austin-based Phunware, the mobile applications developer headed by Alan Knitowski, has acquired a branded mobile apps firm, GoTV Networks, the company said today. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. GoTV Networks has locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and develops a number of branded mobile applicatoins for major brands. GoTV Networks had been venture backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Charles River Ventures, and Motorola.
