Philips, Texas A&M Team On Health Software Center

Royal Philips, the big health technology company headquartered in the Netherlands, and Texas A&M University, said today that are in a deal to create a new center focused on population health software. The two said the new collaboration is party of the Healthy South Texas, and will create integrated Emergency Medical Services (EMS) technologies for more efficient and effective coordination of response efforts, and developing point-of-care diagnostics and biosurveillance to help avoid epidemics and pandemics. No financial details of the collaboration deal were announced. The two said they will create The Center for Global Health and Innovation on campus, which will offer up an environment to rapidly design, develop, prototype, and showcase healthcare solutions.
