Omnitracs Targets Truck Driver Turnover With Analytics Software

Dallas-based fleet management and transportation systems provider Omnitracs said this morning that it has launched a new product, which will help transportation companies better predict which of its truck drivers are most likely to voluntarily leave their jobs. The company said it is hoping to let fleet managers and owners better retain drivers, which the company said it one of the biggest issues and costs for fleets. Omnitracs said its new Omnitracs ELD Driver Retention Model uses data already being collected by its electronic fleet management and logging software, to help detect "subtle changes in driver habits" which suggest that drivers are looking to leave their jobs. Omnitracs said that data--such as hours worked, customer site delays, lack of hours and amount of activity on the clock--are all used in those predictions.
