Omega Protein Buys Bioriginal Food & Science Corp.

Houston-based nutritional products company Omega Protein Corporation said this morning that it has acquired Bioriginal Food & Science Corp., a provider of specialty oils, essential fatty acids, specialty proteins and nutraceuticals. The deal was worth approximately $70.5M, split between $46.5M in cash, assumption of $21.5M in debt, plus stock. Omega Protein said that Bioriginal had revenues of approximately $98M for its fiscal year ended March 31. Omega Protein was advised by D‎.A. Davidson & Co. and Aspect Consumer Partners in the deal.
