NextIO Gets $15M

Austin-based NextIO, a developer of I/O virtualization products, said Monday that it has raised $15M in a Series D funding round. The firm said the funding came from existinv venture capital backers, strategic investors, an a new "strategic investment" source as well. Names of those backers were not disclosed. NextIO develops products used for blade and rack server systems, to create a shared bank of PCIe-based add-in hardware devices. NextIO has previously raised funding from Adams Capital Management, Crescendo Ventures, Dell Computer, JK&B Capital, and VentureTech Alliance; it was unclear which, if any, of those investors participated in this round.
