NextIO Claims Performance Record

Austin-based NextIO, a developer of I/O virtualization products, claimed today that it has set a IOP performance benchmark record using its solid-state flash storage array. NextIO said it has delivered 4.2 million I/Os per second in its 4U rack appliance, as part of its own testing. The firm is targeting data centers with its products. NextIO says is vSTOR S200 product provides 10.2 terabytes of capacity and 4.2 million IOPS in a 4u platform, and surpasses its prior 2.1M IOPS with its vStor S100 product.
