    WhaleShark Media Names CFO, Hits $140M In Revenues
    Austin-based coupon and deals website operator WhaleShark Media said Wednesday that it has named Douglas Jeffries as the firm's new Chief Financial Officer. Jeffries was most recently EVP and CFO at Taleo, the publicly traded software firm that was acquired last year by Oracle. Jeffries also served at Palm, Inc., eBay, and Price Waterhouse.     Toopher Lands $2M For Security Tools

    Toopher, a new startup created by a student and adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin, said today that it has raised $2.0M in a Series A funding, and has moved into the Austin Technology Incubator.     Texas Venture Labs Expands Competitions With New Assistant Director

    The Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs, the startup support effort based at the University of Texas at Austin, is looking to expand its investment competition and support to companies from other universities, with the appointment of a new Assistant Director, Rob Warren, the lab told its supporters today in an email.

    Amazon To Open Three Fulfillment Centers In Texas
    E-commerce giant Amazon.com said this morning that it plans to open up three fulfillment centers in Texas, creating more than 1,000 jobs in the state. According to Amazon, the new centers will be based in Coppell, Haslet and Schertz, and will help to fulfill customer orders for the company. Amazon said its 1.2 million square foot site in Schertz, and the 1 million square foot site in Coppell will handle large items, such as televisions and BBQs. The 1.1 (More info...)

    Michael Dell Seeks Majority Control Of Dell, Says Report
    Michael Dell is seeking to buy majority control of Round Rock-based Dell, in a private equity buyout of the company, according to a report last night from Bloomberg.
