    Videogame Players Raise $100,000 For Texas Charities
    What the heck is a virtual, ice-skating llama, and what does that llama have to do with charities in Texas? Apparently, the ice skating llama has raised $100,000 for two Texas children's charities--the Austin Children's Shelter and Children's Medical Center at Legacy--due to the purchases of the in-game virtual llama in the massively multiplayer online games developed by Plano's KingIsle Entertainment.     Spredfast Ties Into Bazaarvoice
    Two of Austin's social marketing software developers, Spredfast and Bazaarvoice, have integrated their tools, the firms said this morning. Austin-based social marketing software provier Spredfast said it has integrated with Bazaarvoice, to allow its customers to more easily incorporate organic user ratings and reviews into their social channels.     SailPoint Grew By 100 Employees In 2012
    Austin-based SailPoint said Tuesday that it hired 100 new employees in 2012, in what it called a banner year for the company. The firm also said it has grown its annual bookings by 4x over the last three years, as it has expanded. The firm did not disclose any actual financials. SailPoint is a developer of identity management products, which it provides to enterprise customers to manage access to their enterprise applications and data.

    Alpheus Communications Wins New Customer
    Houston-based Alpheus Communications, the provider of metro-air fiber and networking services, said it has added another customer, Berkeley Eye Center, as a customer. Alpheus said that Berkeley has chosen to network all sixteen of its locations to each other and its Houston data center via a network designed and built by Alpheus. Size of the win was not announced. Berkeley Eye Center operates sixteen clinics in and around greater Houston.
