    Report: Central Texas, Biotech Led Texas Q4 2012 Deals
    A new report, issued this week by Texas Entrepreneur Networks, found that Central Texas led the region in venture investments in the fourth quarter of 2012. The group--headed by Hall T. Martin--also found that biotechnology deals were the leading category for funding. The group said that it tallied 48 deals worth $139M in Central Texas, followed by the North Texas region with 35 deals worth $92M.     MeetMeTix Links With Red Carpet Tickets
    Austin-based MeetMeTix, the online ticket resale site headed by Jesse B. Dyer, has linked up with Austin ticketing firm Red Carpet Tickets. According to the two firms, MeetMeTix buyers can now view and purchase tickets in advance of sporting events via the link with Red Carpet Tickets, a private label provider of tickets.     Dell In Buyout Talks, Says Report

    TrueAbility Finds $750K To Assess Technical Job Recruits
    San Antonio-based TrueAbility, which develops technology to help companies evaluate candidates for technical job positions, has raised $750,000 in a seed funding round. The seed funding came from Rackspace co-founders Pat Condon and Graham Weston. The firm said its cloud-based technical assessment service is aimed at helping companies better evaluate job candidates for technical positions.

    Austin Ventures Names EIR
    Venture capital firm Austin Ventures is all about Austin today, after the venture capital firm (named after Austin), based in Austin, has tapped entrepreneur Gene Austin as its newest Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Gene Austin is the former CEO of software-as-a-service provider COnvio, which he ran for 10 years, until its sale last year.     Mozido Links With Savvis
    Austin-based white-label mobile payments and commerce firm Mozido said today that it has linked with IT and cloud infrastructure provider Savvis. According to the two, Mozido will gain access to the Savvis cloud infrastructure and IT solutions. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
