    Phunware Buys TapIt Media Group
    Austin-based Phunware, the developer of mobile application infrastructure and software, said Wednesday that it has acquired TapIt Media Group, a mobile advertising firm, for $23M. Phunware had operations in Irvine, California, and Rockville, Maryland. Phunware said it will use TapIt to power the core of its cloud-based, mobile advertising platform.     BMC Wins UK Customer
    Houston-based BMC said today that it has scored an overseas win, with the Pembrokeshire County Council, in Wales. BMC said that the county is using its Track-It! help desk software. Financial details of the win were not announced. BMC said that the council has 6,000 employees, and is using its software to increase the efficiency of its IT staff and improve the management and tracking of IT assets throughout their lifecycle.

    Drilling Info Names CFO
    Austin-based Drilling Info, the developer of software-as-a-service for the oil and gas business, said over the holidays that it has named Dave Piazza as its Chief Financial Officer. Piazza was previously CFO of QuadraMed Corporation. The company also said Piazza has experience in the emerging telecommunications and technology sectors.     Fisoc Gets $5M For Loyalty Programs
    Austin-based Fisoc, which develops Buzz Points, a provider of loyalty programs aimed at banks and credit unions, said over the holidays that it has raised $5M in its Series C funding round. The firm said the lead investors included Greycroft Partners, KEC Holdings, LLC and Metamorphic Ventures, with Daylight Partners and local angels also participating. Fisoc is led by Jay Valanju.
