    Aurea Software Spins Out of Progress Software
    Austin-based Aurea Software said today that it has launched its operations, made up of four former businesses of Progress Software. Aurea said it completed its acquisition of Savvion, Sonic, Actional and DataXtend SI, and has launched its sales, service, and support operations.     ZTE Invests $30M In U.S. Operations
    Smartphone manufacturer ZTE, which bases its U.S. operations out of Richardson, Texas, said today that it will invest $30M more in the U.S. market, to enhance its presence here. The firm said the move will also help create more U.S. jobs, and will go towards working with partners on technology, strengthening lab capabilities, and other infrastructure.     National Instruments Buys German Firm
    Austin-based National Instruments the developer of tools for the scientific and engineering market, said today that it has acquired Dresden, Germany-based Signalion GmbH. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. National Instruments said it acquired Signalion for that firm's wireless communications talent and technology.     Pernix Buys Somaxon Pharmaceuticals
    The Woodland, Texas-based Pernix Therapeutics announced this morning that it has acquired Somaxon, a developer of treatments for insomnia. The deal was worth $25M in a stock-for-stock deal. Pernix said the acquisition would help it expandits product portfolio.
