Mouser To Send 3D Printing Design Into Space
Dallas- and Fort Worth-based electronic components distributor Mouser said it has selected a winner in its competition to send a 3D, printed design to be printed on the International Space Station. The company said that Andy Filo, the winner, created a device that launches femtosatellites, tiny satellites about the size of a postage stamp. The design was part of a promotion by Mouser to encourage designers to submit their 3D design ideas, part of a broader marketing outreach it has been doing under its "Empowering Innovation Together" campaign, which uses former Mythbusters' host Grant Imahara as a spokesperson.
