Mirage Networks: Biggest Worm In History Infecting PCs

Austin-based Mirage Networks says the firm is on top of the what it says is "the biggest worm in history," which is in the process of infecting PCs. The work -- known as Downadup or Conficker, takes over unpatched, Windows personal computers, and is estimated to have taken over 10 million PCs worldwide. The purpose of the worm isn't known, but security experts believe the worm is the first stage in a bigger malware attack. Mirage said that its network access control (NAC) hardware detects and isolates systems compromised by the worm. Mirage's product restricts the access of unknown, or untrusted hardware onto computer networks through NAC.
