Microtune Announces Chinese Digital TV Chipset

Plano-based Microtune announced today that it has rolled out a new, digital television chipset aimed at Chinese television manufacturers. According to Microtune, its new chipsets are aimed at Chinese TV manufacturers creating products for the domestic Chinese market. The firm said its chipset, which includes its MT3141 multi-standard radio frequency receiver, and one of the firm's MT886x family of demodulators, support China's China Terrestrial Television Broadcast (CTTB)/Digital Television Multimedia Broadcast (DTMB) standard. The new chipset will be priced at $7.00 for the complete pair to high volume customers.
