Meetrix Snags Patent

Austin-based Meetrix, a developer of an online virtual conference room service, has been granted a patent for its technology, the firm said today. The firm said that it has received U.S. Patent 7,664,056, covering "Media based collaboration using mixed-mode PSTN and Internet networks". Thomas A. Dye and Thomas A. Dundon, both of Austin, are named as inventors on the patent, which was granted on February 16th. Meetrix has its engineering operations in Austin, with business headquarters in Los Angeles.
