Lyft: $36M Generated For Dallas Economy In 2016

On-demand ridesharing service Lyft announced this morning that it has run an economic impact study on how the service impacted 20 of its major markets across the country, including Dallas, and found it generated $36M for the Dallas economy in 2016. Lyft said the survey, run for the company by the Land Econ Group, said an extra $36M was generated as a result of its efforts in Dallas, and that passengers in Dallas will save $18.8M in travel time and 450,000 travel hours because of the service. Lyft said its impact comes as a result of its users visiting local businesses more often, staying out longer, and exploring new areas of their city that are otherwise difficult to reach. Lyft's efforts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are managed by General Manager Aaron Fox.
