Lineage Power Acquisition Completes

The acquisition of Plano-based Lineage Power Holdings by GE has completed, GE announced this morning. GE acquired Lineage Power from private equity firm The Gores Group, LLC. The deal was worth $520M, and had originally announced in January. GE said that the acquisition would broaden its position in the telecommunications and datacenter power technology area. Lineage Power is a developer of DC power supplies, used to cut power usage in telecommunications and data centers; the firm's DC power supplies are more efficient than standard, AC power. GE said that Lineage Power had revenues of approximately $450M in 2010, and has nearly 2,300 employees.
