LibreDigital Rolls New Self-Service Portal

Austin-based LibreDigital, the provider of digital publishing products for the book, newspaper, and magazine industry, said today that it is launching a new, self-service portal aimed at small publishers. The firm said the new offering is aimed to help small publishers submit their e-books to distribution on Apple's iBookstore, as well as other marketplaces. LibreDigital, which is headed by Russell Reeder, is venture backed by Adams Capital Management, Triangle Peak Partners, S3 Ventures, Noro-Moseley Partners, and HarperCollins Publishers. The firm's services help traditional publishers format and publish their electronic books in multiple, online e-book formats. LibreDigital said the new offering will be provided based on revenue share, plus cost of converting a publisher's original source.
