Legerity Acquired By Zarlink Semiconductor

Austin, Texas-based Legerity, a developer of analog chipsets for the telecom market, said Monday afternoon that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Zarlink Semiconductor. The deal is worth $134.5M in cash. The deal is expected to close in late July. According to Legerity, its revenues in calendar year 2006 were $113M. Zarlink is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. The companies said that the acquisition will expand and accelerate Zarlink's plan for the voice over packet market. Legerity has 216 employees, and develops analog semiconductors and ICs for the carrier, enterprise, and residential gateway equipment markets.
