Landcadia Holdings Buys Waitr For $300M

Houston-based Landcadia Holdings, the acquisition vehicle of Houston Rockets' owner Tilman Fertitta, has acquired food delivery startup Waitr, the companies said this week. According to the companies, Landcadia will pay $50M in cash plus $250M in stock for Waitr, which offers up restaurant deliveries across Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Mississipi, Louisiana, South Caronia, and Tennessee. Waitr competes against Uber, DoorDash, and a host of other restaurant delivery services.
