Knocki Hopes To Take On "The Clapper"

A new, Austin-based startup is taking on "The Clapper", with a new, high tech device to turn any surface into a remote control, the company said today. Knocki--founded by Jake Boshernitzan and Ohad Nezer--said it is in the midst of creating a small wireless device, the Knocki, which turns any surface into a remote control. The company said its device will allow users to use walls, tables, and other solid surfaces to control Wi-Fi connected devices. Knocki comes out of the startup accelerator Seed Sumo. Knocki did not say when it expects to ship its yet-to-be-produced device, although its site says it hopes to ship "before the holiday season".
