Infochimps Launches Data Marketplace

Texas-based Infochimps.org disclosed the launch of a web site for buying and selling datasets today, as it heads to DEMOfall in San Diego. According to Infochimps, its data marketplace will allow users to find, share, or sell any dataset in the world. Data being sold on the site includes football statistics, online polls, lists of UN development data, and more. Infochimps said its marketplace will handling license compliance, secure storage, and distribution of data to vendors, who can set the price for their datasets.
