Houston Firm Awards $22,000 To Programmers

Sugar Land-based HCSS, a developer of estimation software for the construction industry, announced this week that it has awarded $22,000 in cash to the winners of its Code for 10 programming contest. The firm, which launched the contest in June, said it awarded Jose Bonilla of Houston $11,000, Erik Robertson of Houston for $5,000, and Igor Morozov of Port Charlotte, Florida $3,000. In addition, the firm gave $2,000 to Chris Nowicki of Tallahasse, Florida and $1,000 to Eric Venner of Houston. HCSS had launched its competition to help the firm find talented employees; the company said it attracted over 100 contestants to the contest, which required the developers to develop a prototype application using Microsoft .NET and SQL.
