HomeAway Names Marketing Exec

Austin-based HomeAway, an operator of vacation rental websites, said Thursday it has named Michael (Mike) Butler as the firm's new Chief Marketing Officer. Butler joins the firm from T-Mobile USA, where he was an executive vice president and CMO. Butler has also served at Capital One, along with Kraft General Foods and Kellogg Company. HomeAway operates a network of web sites that connect travelers with vacation rental owners. The firm is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, American Capital, Institutional Venture Partners and Trident Capital.
