High End to License Color Kinetics Patents

High End Systems, a manufacturer of automated and digital lighting instruments and lighting control systems, revealed Thursday that it has signed a licensing agreement with Color Kinetics, a manufacturer of LED-based lighting systems. The agreement calls for High End Systems to license Color Kinetics' patent portfolio, so that the firm can develop its first line of multi-color LED-based products. The royalty-bearing license will apply to sales of applicable High End products. Color Kinetics is based in Boston, while High End Systems is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
