Handango Acquired By PocketGear

Los Colinas-based Handango, a developer and distributor of mobile software, has been acquired by PocketGear, a North Carolina firm which operates its own mobile marketplace. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to PocketGear, Handango's CEO, Alex Bloom, becomes Chief Operating Officer of the firm as part of the buy. The firm said that the two firms have in total sold over $400M in mobile applications, to date.
