Google: $3.2B In Economic Impact On Texas

Search engine giant Google said this week that it has run a study which finds that it generated $54 billion in economic activity in 2009 in the nation, with $3.2 billion of that in Texas. In a state-by-state report, Google broke down its estimates of the amount of business driven by advertising and AdWords on its site, tallying up 104,100 advertisers and website publishers in Texas, who collectively saw $3.181 billion in "economic value." Google also said it now has over 50 full time employees in Texas at its Austin offices, focused on sales and support for its Google Enterprise applications.
