GENBAND Loses CEO Vogt To Private Equity Venture

Frisco-based telecom equipment provider GENBAND lost nine year CEO Charlie Vogt Wednesday, to a private equity backed venture in Denver. According to Harris Broadcast, a private-equity owned provider of hardware and software for transmitting, creating, and managing broadcast video, Vogt has joined the company as its new CEO. GENBAND has installed David Walsh, its current Executive Chairman, in the CEO position. Harris Broadcast was acquired by private equity firm The Gores Group in December. Vogt headed up Genband's acquisition spree over his tenure, acquiring six companies, including Tekelec SSG, NextPoint Networks and Nortel's VoIP Business.
