Genband Completes Tekelec Acquisition

Plano, Texas-based GENBAND said today that it has completed its acquisition of Tekelec's Switching Solutions Group. GENBAND originally announced the deal in March. GENBAND said that with the acquisition, it now has a portfolio of high-performance media gateways and multimedia applications. The firm provides products to the telecommunications industry, and counts AT&T, Verizon, Cablevision, Charter, Videotron, Frontier, TDS, Windstream, Embarq, CenturyTel, T-Mobile and other among its customer base.
