GameStop Plans Big Hiring For Holiday Season

Grapevine, Texas-based GameStop says it is planning to double its seasonal hiring efforts for the holidays, and plans to hire approximately 25,000 employees nationwide for the holiday season. The company said the hiring is 47 percent higher compared with the same period in 2013. GameStop said the expanded hiring effort is due to the current strength of its business, and to make sure it can provide the customer service it needs to provide to its customers. The company said the positions are mostly for in-store Game Advisors, but also include around 250 consumer electronics technicians for refurbishment operations, plus warehouse personnel for its distribution centers.
