Freescale Launches Single-Chip Zigbee Product

Austin, Texas-based Freescale Semiconductor said today that it has itnroduced a new single-chip ZigBee product. The new platform includes all of the components needed to implement the low power ZigBee wireless standard in product. ZigBee is the new wireless standard targeted at manufacturers and control and sensor newtorks. Motorola's new MC1322x platform supports battery life of up to 20 years, and includes a microcontroller, RF components, and transceiver. The new chip will be sampled to OEMs in May, with general market samples planned for December.
