In an effort which applies the startup pitch model to social issues and challenges, a set of groups in Fort Worth said they have launched a new, social innovation fund called KERNEL. The new fund will challenge problem solvers to pitch their ideas to solve social issues, using the startup pitch model that is used by TechFW and IDEA Works FW, two local investment groups. The three said that KERNEL, a United Way social innovation fund, will offer up problem solvers at least $10,000 through a pitch model based on the startup pitch approach developed by TECH FW and IDEA Works FW.
