Filament Labs Gets $1M For Mobile Health

Austin-based Filament Labs announced this morning that it has raised $1M in a seed funding round, for the company's mobile health products. The startup, led by Jason Bornhorst, said the funding was led by Mercury Fund, and also included Corinthian Health Services and Arcadia Home Care. The funding will go towards growing the company's mobile products. Filament's product helps healthcare professionals provide personalized care plans to patients, and helps remind patients of tasks, provide content, and other follow up care via smartphone. Filament said the round also included a long list of angel investors, including David Cohen (Techstars), Walt Winshall (PatientsLikeMe), Marc Weiser (RPM Ventures), Wendy Smith (Healthcare), Dr. Farnam Jahanian (University of Michigan), Dean Drako (Eagle Eye Networks), Eric Simone (ClearBlade), Jeff Schox (Schox Law), Larry Abrams (Author), Rick Borenstein (Sequoia Partners), and Russell Hinds (RSH Ventures).
