FanForce Acquired By Tippr.com

Austin-based FanForce, the group buying startup founded by Samy Aboel-Nil, Dane Knecht, and John Whitmarsh, has been acquired by Tippr.com, a group buying firm based in Seattle. Financial terms of the acqisition were not disclosed. According to Tippr, Aboel-Nil becomes President/COO of the firm, Knecht becomes VP of Product Management at the firm, and Whitmarsh has become CFO. Tippr develops tools which allows anyone to add group buying functionality to their web site. Tippr said the FanForce team was most recently at MessageOne.
